Basketball Training in Eugene, Oregon
Oregon Flight's Skills Academy is the Eugene area's home for elite individual skill development. We train ball-handling, shooting mechanics, footwork, and basketball IQ in small, focused groups, with a strictly limited coaching ratio so every player gets real attention.
REAL SKILL DEVELOPMENT, NOT JUST OPEN GYM
Most young players in Eugene never get real basketball training. They play games, go to open gym, maybe attend a weekend camp, and wonder why their handles and shot don't improve. Real improvement comes from focused, repeated skill work with a coach who watches and corrects. That is what Oregon Flight's Skills Academy delivers.
Our coaches break the game into the skills that matter most: ball-handling with both hands, shooting mechanics built on proper footwork, finishing through contact, and the basketball IQ that separates good players from great ones. Players train in small groups so every athlete gets individual feedback every session.
Training runs year-round with flexible monthly packages, so it fits any schedule and any budget. Whether your athlete is a beginner learning the fundamentals or a club player chasing a varsity spot, Oregon Flight's Skills Academy is the most complete basketball training program in the Eugene and Springfield area.

BASKETBALL TRAINING FAQ
What is basketball training like at Oregon Flight in Eugene?
Oregon Flight's Skills Academy is a structured individual-skills training program for boys and girls in Eugene and Springfield. Players train in small groups with experienced coaches, working on ball-handling, shooting mechanics, footwork, finishing, and basketball IQ. Sessions run Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at West Coast Strength in Springfield. Families choose a 1-day, 2-day, or 3-day package based on how often they want to train.
Who is basketball training for? Do you have to be on a team?
No. Skills Academy is open to any player who wants to improve, whether or not they are on an Oregon Flight club team. It is a great fit for athletes preparing for tryouts, multi-sport players who want extra basketball reps, and players who want focused skill development without committing to a full travel team. We train players from beginner to advanced.
How much does basketball training cost in Eugene?
Skills Academy packages are $125 per month for one training day, $175 per month for two days, and $225 per month for three days. Each monthly package includes a set number of sessions for the season. There is no per-session drop-in fee, so committed athletes get the best value with the 3-day package.
Where are the basketball training sessions held?
Eugene and Springfield players train at West Coast Strength in Springfield. We also operate Skills Academy locations in Salem and the Portland metro area. All locations use the same curriculum and coaching standards.
How is Skills Academy training different from a basketball camp?
Camps are short, intensive, one-time events. Skills Academy is ongoing weekly training, so skills actually stick. Players build a relationship with their coaches, get repeated reps on the same skills week after week, and see measurable improvement over a full season rather than over a single weekend. Think of it as the difference between a workout and a training program.
What should my athlete bring to basketball training?
Players should bring a basketball, water bottle, and wear basketball shoes and athletic clothing. New Oregon Flight players receive a reversible jersey. Coaches provide all cones, drills, and equipment. Just show up ready to work.
